Many friends have asked me, how I lost postpartum weight (approximately 10kgs). I have been trying different diet plans out of which the strict diet plan by Shilpa Shetty has really worked out for me. Its been 45 days since I’ve been following this and would probably follow to reduce at least 5 kg more.

# Don’t eat those Ghee laddoos, they just increase your body fat.

# 1 hour brisk walk only as your body is not ready for running.

# Postpartum is the best time to reduce fat because lots of calories are used by body to produce milk.

Breakfast:

Start day with hot water and a plate of papaya with lemon juice on empty stomach. Whip up different juices every day, such as red juice (pomegranate, apple carrot, and beetroot, tomato and green apple), green juice (cucumber and spinach).

Cup of milk.

Porridge or two whole eggs – omelette, boiled or scrambled.

Lunch:

Rice or two rotis ( made of 5 different kinds of grains ) with two teaspoons of ghee, vegetables, dal, fish (she has quit chicken due to the fear of the birds being fed with toxic antibiotics and steroids) or egg bhurji. End your meal with a piece of jaggery.

Evening snacks (If you are too hungry):

Snacks such as makhanas sautéed in ghee with salt and pepper

A glass of slim dahi buttermilk.

Two eggs, if the day starts early.

Or just a cup of tea with brown sugar.

Dinner (before 8 pm):

Sour Soup for proteins.

Stir-fried vegetables or paneer.

Turkey slice / Salmon steak.

Cheat Day: SUNDAY, when bhajiyas, batata wada, biryani, rasgullas or any of your favorite dish is allowed.
