How A Woman Changed Her Entire Body

I keep on checking for people who have inspiring stories to tell. From whom we can learn new ways to live and make our lives better. One such person is Kelsey Wells. A wife, a mother, a trainer and a fitness blogger on instagram.

Recently, Kelsey posted a series of pictures of her bikini body illustrating how she has changed over the years with just one message – “Screw the scale”.

She took first picture just after eight weeks from giving birth to her child when she weighed 145 pounds. In second picture, through immense workout she lowers it down to 122 pounds. However, making a few more changes she scales herself up to 140 pounds again. This is what makes the point.

Kelsey states:

“According to my old self and flawed standards, I would be failing miserably. THANK GOODNESS I finally learned to start measuring my progress by things that matter — strength, ability, endurance, health, and HAPPINESS.”

There are two things that we can learn from her.

Firstly, most often, we track our fitness levels through how much do we weigh or how much we have gained or lost in a specific time interval and eventually how do we look. However, your fitness does not depend on your weighing scale reading or your jeans size. It depends upon how much strength, endurance and happiness you have. Kelsey eventually reached to a point where her weight differed only 5 pounds from where she started but her body composition has changed completely.

Her transition from 122 pounds to 140 pounds and reduced overall fat percentage shows how much muscle has she acquired. For the proof, look at those sculpted abs and chiseled body.

Secondly, we make excuses to justify our lack of actions. Kelsey started working towards her body goals just after 8 weeks from her pregnancy and right now she’s a super mom, caring wife and a wonderful trainer, all at the same time. Then what holds us back? Most crucial part of achieving a goal is “to start” and to have “perseverance”. Things would certainly fall in place when you start working for them.
