It is rightly said, Healthy Habits take you a long way. Well I wasn’t a fan for any routine or regular habits until I started my journey down the fitness lane. There I realised about how important it is to not only stay fit but to continue those habits throughout your life. Once you start performing a habit, even your body starts playing tricks with you and crave you do to more of it. Some healthy habits you should include in your lifestyle are:
Start with a healthy living
Fitness is not about achieving your dream body but it is also staying that way for the left of your lives. Trust me that former is easy to achieve but the latter is had to follow. Don’t stop when you’ve achieved your goals but make it your permanent lifestyle. Eat nutritious and healthy meals and train yourself atleast for 4 days a week.
Don’t torture yourself for results and goals
You will more likely perform tasks you fell happy and comfortable about. Until and unless your fitness routines are fun you might not want to do them. Try new things, have fun and remember physical activity is not drudgery. Include variations in your regime so that you can feel at ease too.
Follow the 80/20 rule
Well fitness doesn’t mean that you cannot indulge yourself for a pizza or a cheesecake so drinks. It means that most of your diet comprises of healthy meals but not all your meals are such. Don’t crave your taste buds just in the name of rules and do and don’ts. Instead stick with this 80/20 rule. This means that 80% of your meals include fruits, vegetables, eggs, limiting in terms of fat, carbs, processed sugars, oil and alcohol. 20% is anything you want to eat. Like literally anything. Sounds fun right!
Have a goal
Even in the gym, it’s important that you have a plan and you stick to it. Compete with yourself every single day. That’s the only way you can be better. Set realistic and small goals. Include surprises in your exercises and perform everything from aerobics to Zumba.
Don’t stop yourself
In order to achieve long term fitness, you have recovery quickly from a relapse. Even if you’ve missed the gym today make sure you counter that miss with extra efforts for the next day. Fitness is subjective and you might lose all your efforts down the drain, if you do not realize it. Do not adopt the all or nothing concept. And do not think just because you’ve missed exercising for a week, now it won’t matter if you start doing. Enjoy that pastry but burn its calories too.
Consult a professional
Well you’ve read about a regime on the internet and you think it’s the best for you. Without consulting a professional you start its execution. Now don’t forget, every such regime is formulated to suit most of the body types but not all. So don’t be a genius and take proper advice from people who know the best. You should know what you don’t and try knowing that information with proper expertise.
Make your regimes easy, uncomplicated and fun. Your regimes should clear you mind not frustrate it more. Stick to a simple and basic regime. Your gym should be a place to dump all your stress, not take more.
Think about training methods not weight loss programs
Your mind should be concerned about improving your strength and endurance. Weight loss is all concerned about your changes in nutrition and not how much you sweat in the gym. So you have to change your diet in order to achieve fat loss. The primary objective is to improve your fitness and performance and fat loss will follow accordingly.
It’s hard to tackle today’s busy lifestyle and so it’s important that you choose wisely. Inculcating such healthy habits is just a first step, you still have a long way to go.
