So here’s the thing, it’s really very challenging to find a snack that suits you! Yes it does sound as if I’m talking about an outfit. But the truth is that you actually need to go through a lot of research to get that perfect snack that suits you. This research can become even ore difficult if youre a vegan.
I mean I totally respect your decision about being vegan. I know how hard it is to get up in the morning and not even getting a cup of milk. Because you want to become a vegan! I’ve got some friends too who are vegan and they always complain that why don’t they invent some food that could actually be beneficial for a vegan person. Here are some of the recipes that I put together that would actually help the ‘vegan you’!
1. Nut job:
Yes, you guessed it right, this is a plant based snack and mostly includes a lot of nuts, seeds and dried fruits. Some also had vegan chocolates and crackers in them. This item can be a good source of protein, healthy days and fibre. Some also contain added sugar, salt and oil. Make sure to avoid them. You can also prepare your own by mixing your favorite nut ingredients.
2. Pure’ee’ fruit:
This recipe is actually very simple to prepare. All you need to do is take any fruit puree and mix it with lemon juice or maple syrup or anything that you’d prefer. Spread it on a baking sheet and keep it in oven at 140°F for six hours. It has lot of health benefits such as it is high in fibre, vitamins and minerals. You can slice the dried up fruit puree and eat it as a snack anytime.
3. Smoothvies and smoothfoos:
Thats my new way of saying fruit smoothies and veggie smoothies! It is rather simple and you can also substitute your daily milk with plant based milk along with some veggies and fruits. Also you can add a scoop of flax seeds which will give omega-3 fatty acids which are beneficial for health and you might also not find them in other vegan diet.
It is a morning anak but you can have it at any time if the day(well, at least my dad does!!) It is high in fibre, iron and magnesium along with some other vitamin and mineral. Pathram with milk (plant based) and some of your favorite fruits and nuts or seeds can make your day. Best way to have oatmeal is having ut without any sugar content.
5. Mix’nola’ :
This is my favorite and it will be yours too! I tried it at home and now, it worked the best for me. This is a mix teamil. To make your own granola convince oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, raisins, cinnamon, coconut oil and maple syrup. Keep it in oven at low heat for 30-40 minutes. And there you have it, your own mix’nola’! While the store ones have added sugar, this one is surely healthy. Also it has the perfect combination of sweet and spicy ingredients.
6. Rice bars and avocados:
These are similar to rice cakes just that you can carry this around anywhere you want to! This is made out of brown rice. This particular snack with avocado can make a great snack. Adding toasted sesame seeds will give a crunchy texture to it.
7. Veggie fingers:
Sliced vegetables baked at low temperature are delicious. You can use any veggies you want to make this. Slice them longitudinally and bake them at 200-250 °F for 30-60 minutes. They provide a variety of nutrients.
8. Seaweed crunches:
These are made from sheets of seaweed that are baked, sliced into square and added salt. They are low in calorie and also a very healthy vegan snack. It is an 3xcellent source of iodine that helps in thyroid functioning.
9. Peanut butter and apple slices:
Nothing is better than pairing up peanut butter with apple slices. They re free of fat, sodium and cholesterol. It has a lot of vitamin B with a list of benefits. Eating them will also make you feel full. Slice apple as you regularly would and coat it with peanut butter. It tastes best when it is frozen for 30 minutes.
10. Dark chocolate with dried coconut:
A great snack that could satisfy your sweet tooth. Coconut with square of dark chocolate. Make sure dark chocolate are from brands that don’t use animal products. Apart from that they are nutritious and delicious as well.
